FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aqua One LLC Has Achieved GBAC STAR™ Accreditation

NEDERLAND, TX – (Tuesday, January 18, 2022) -- Aqua One LLC has announced that it has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Aqua One LLC has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention for its clients.

GBAC STAR Service Accreditation validates a cleaning company’s cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention program to help its facility customers prepare, respond and recover from biohazards and infectious agents such as SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19.

As the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation, GBAC STAR™ helps organizations establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program verifies that Aqua One LLC implements best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

GBAC STAR Service is a performance-based program that is based on quality management system principles and is similar in approach to other relevant industry programs like ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 35001.  It is designed to complement other cleaning-industry programs like the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS), which outlines the primary characteristics of a well-run, quality cleaning organization.

“GBAC STAR accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “By taking this important step to pursue GBAC STAR, Aqua One LLC has received third-party validation that it follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, thereby demonstrating its preparedness and commitment to operating safely.”

To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, Aqua One LLC was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
